Made With Love - Week #5

So because its still August....and there were five Wednesday's in the month, I decided to do one more Made With Love card.  It really is such a cute stamp set....and I believe you can do way more than just welcome a baby.  I wanted to show you just how versatile it was....check out this Christmas Card!!   I did use the sentiment from another stamp set....a new one from the Holiday catalogue which launches tomorrow and some old Christmas paper that I picked up from Michaels.  My new Stampin Up Christmas DSP is on its way as I type this!!

I used my Ornate Tag Topper punch which is now retired, but you could use the Scalloped Tag Topper which is still available in the annual catalogue.  That's the beauty of Stampin Up products, you can use old and new to make colourful cards!!

Project Life

I tried scrapbooking once, about 10 years ago.....and managed two pages.  It took so long to complete a page, I gave up.  I was making memories faster than I could record them.  Then digital camera's came along....and iPhones and well, I just kept clicking and clicking.  Trouble was, I rarely went back to look at the photo's I had taken.  The iPhone 3 morphed into an iPhone 6 over the years, and where the heck the two previous phones packed with photo's went, is anybodies guess.

I needed a new plan.   Stampin Up provided that very plan in the most creatively fun product....Project Life.   Project Life lets you easily and quickly create page layouts using photo pocket pages, card collections with exclusive artwork, accessory packs containing die-cuts, wooden pieces, stickers, washi tape and more....plus fabulous photopolymer stamp sets.

I started my 6" x 8" album in May to document a trip to Las Vegas with my hubby and our youngest son.  We met my dad and brother, who are from England, there.  I used the Moments Like These Project Life Card Collection and Accessories to showcase our memories.  This past weekend, I added more pages and photographs from a trip hubby and I took in July to Collingwood, Ontario.  It literally took me less than two hours to select photo's, build pages and journal about our relaxing three days...sunburn and all.

Imagine all the other fabulous reason's to keep memories using Project Life: A new baby, first grandchild, christmas, wedding, vacation, a year in the life of your child.  So many great reasons to get those photo's off your iPhones and smart phones and into a book you can flip for years.  Which actually contains stories and memories to pass on.

I am going to be putting on a Project Life Specialty Workshop in October.....make sure you keep checking my Classes and Events tab above for the registration information.

If you would like to know what I used to make my Travel Adventure Memory Book....see the list of products below.

Have a great week....making future memories.

Tin of Cards Workshop

Sometimes, I think two hours of crafting and card making fun with my friends and customers on a Friday night, is just not enough.  Especially if I am teaching a new technique, or we get off track while chatting and giggling.   I never want the evening to end!!   So I thought, let's make it longer!!  Let's do a complete 4 hour workshop on a Saturday, and throw in a lunch.  How much fun would that be??

So my first Saturday Specialty Workshop is on September 10th.  It's called a Tin of Cards Workshop, and features a fabulous product from the Stampin Up Annual catalogue on page 160.  Designer Tin of Cards kit, which comes in a lovely tin with dividers to store the finished cards.  You get enough supplies to make up 16 cards with envelopes, four different designs. The really cool thing is, each design is actually a sample of some of the new Suites featured in the catalogue. I made up one of each, to show you....

I have the stamp set to go with it, plus all the inks....all you need to do is purchase the kit, and bring along your own adhesives.  I am charging $50 for the workshop.   The kit itself is $36.00 so plus shipping and tax comes to $44.75.   The additional $5.25 will cover a light lunch, treats and refreshments.

If you would like to register....please follow this link to sign up.
I will then contact you to arrange payment in advance, via Visa, EFT or cash.   I need to order these kits soon, so we will have them in time....so don't delay!!   I would hate you to miss out on a fun Saturday workshop.

Have a great weekend!!

Cheers

Summer Social Post Show

Last Saturday, I was in the beautiful village of Merrickville displaying and selling my Colourful Cards at the Summer Social Vendor Bazaar.

I had Birthday Cards, Sympathy Cards, Baby Cards, Thank You Cards and Everyday Cards. It's lovely hearing people ooh and arh over my designs and tell me who they are sending them to and why. Every one of my cards are numbered on the back as they are all originals.

While at these vendor show, I love walking around and checking out the other vendor tables. One particularly caught my eye, as it had this rather large but oh so beautiful wire horse on display.

Kate lives in Oxford Mills, Ontario and makes the most beautiful Wire Ponies and Paintings on Glass.  I simply could not stop looking at this beautiful creation. Rather than me, tell you, how long it takes her to make these stunning pieces...check out her Facebook page and drop her a line.  https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100011115034193&sk=about

Another vendor I found completely fascinating was Meghan Scott from "Intuition Dog Training".  She has her own business in Smiths Falls, training dogs and as her tag line say - creating harmony at home.  She brought one of her dogs with her for the day, a Boxer called Karma, and wow...so well behaved.  I watched with interest as other dogs and their owners came by to chat with her, heard some of her tips and tricks and even tried them on my Alfie when I got home. She is also on Facebook - check her out     https://www.facebook.com/intuitiondogtraining/

Tomorrow is Stamp of the Month...so check back to see my latest sample from Made With Love.

August Card Class

Have your ever wanted to try card making...but not sure where to start? I remember the first time I went into Michaels to look for stickers and card stock.... I was so overwhelmed with all the choices,  realized I had no idea what I was doing, so I left with nothing but a headache.

Last November I went with a friend to a card class, my first time.....and learned a few simple techniques, giggled and laughed with everyone, found my inner craft queen...and became hooked!!  Now I want to share my passion with everyone. So I offer my own card making classes in my (new) large craft room at my home in Kemptville, Ontario once a month.

Next Friday - August 26 is my next class and we are making two cards for $10.  One using pretty designer series paper and my new favourite, touch off texture stamp set....and the other using the reflection technique and Wetlands stamp set.

Sign up and join me!!   Click on the Classes and Events tab above and use the link to register. Registration helps me to know how many card pieces to cut out and reserves your spot. All supplies provided, including refreshments.

Looking forward to seeing you.

Made With Love - Week #3

Last week I showed you a baby girl card....using the delicate Pink Pirouette card stock and water colour paper in the Stamp of the Month series - Made With Love.  Today, I am going to share with you a baby boy card.

I made this with soothing Soft Sky card stock, Whisper White card stock and an embossing folder called Swiss Dots I picked  up from a friend.  I love the way this little tag on the front highlights the cute little stamped onesie which again, I fussy cut and popped up with dimensionals, added a pretty pearl and some white ribbon.

Just for fun, when Carolin - my eldest son's girlfriend came over to stamp with me - she made one the same in reverse colours!!  It's so cool to see how the same card looks, in a different colour combo.  Love the little balloon she added. Great job!!

If you would like to see what I used to make this cute baby boy card, check out the product list below.   As always, to order one of these items, just click on the image to take you directly to my online store.   If you order direct, don't forget to use the hostess code in the top right hand corner of my blog, to receive a thank you gift from me.

Summer Social Vendor Bazaar

It's seems ages since I have done a vendor show...and over the last few months I have made something like 70 cards.  Check these two I made last night...

So its time to sell some of them off.  My cards are always $3.00 each or 4 for $10.00.  It's always handy to keep some cards on hand for those moments when words cannot express....or a baby arrives before they should....or you find out your friend is having a birthday, and you forgot!

Come and check out my table at the SUMMER SOCIAL VENDOR BAZAAR, in the lovely little town of Merrickville, Ontario this Saturday - August 20th.  10:00am - 3:00pm.   It's at the Community Hall which is 106 Read Street, Merrickville.  All the proceeds go to local animal rescues, I Am Alive, A Chance Rescue and Furry Tales Rescue.  Lots of local artisans, vendors, face painting, raffles, a canteen and even animals available for adoption.

Come and see my Colourful Cards table ..purchase some cards, hear about my Colourful Card Classes and Workshops (there will be sign up sheets on hand) and visit with the other vendors. I am excited to see you there.

Have a great week.
Cheers

July Thank You Cards

For my July customer Thank You cards, I wanted to try something different.  Many of my fellow Stampin Up Demonstrators were doing this of late....making their own DSP (Designer Series Paper).   I fancied having a go.   Using the stamp set Garden in Bloom, and various colours of ink....I stamped a piece of 8 1'2" x 11" white card stock.

It was so relaxing, stamping randomly all over a clean crisp piece of card stock.

Once I was finished, and happy with the colour combo, I used my paper trimmer to cut up the card stock into eight smaller pieces.

No real exact measurement, just something that would fit nicely on a Stampin Up notecard.  I love the notecards, they are such good value and the perfect size for many projects.

Each square of my DSP was then layered onto a piece of matching coloured card stock 1/8" larger and adhered to the notecard.

I positioned the layered piece down and decorated with a sweet little Thanks sentiment using my oval punch and scalloped edge oval punch (sadly now both retired).    I really enjoyed making my own DSP and have some great ideas for other stamp sets and card layouts.

If you would like to know what I used to make these cards...check out the product list below.  Click on any of the little pictures to go directly to my website to order.  When you order online, don't forget to use the Hostess Code located in the top right hand corner of my blog to receive a thank you gift from me.
